      Yep, 4mb with Virgin Media (old Telewest) so this is just about right.

      Can't wait till they do my free 10mb upgrade!

      'Tis better to sting than to be stung!

            in theory yes, but in practice no. even if you are in the same room as your wireless access point you have interference from radio waves, micro waves and all sorts, and most likely you wont be in the same room anyways.
            this is why sometimes you will click on a web page and it will seem to take ages, its usually because a packet was dropped because of an error.

            browsing web pages and things like that over wireless is fine. but try playing games or streaming video or music and its a PITA lol

                I have 'interference robustness' on my iMac. so streaming is no problem, very rarely does it glitch.

                      I have a D Link running 3 wireless computors two lap tops and a desk top they are on 24/7 downloading music films ect, {two teenagers} my laptop plays 3/4 poker games live at a time and never has a problem. I was getting through 40/50 single table games a week and never had an issue.
                      {Live poker like that is a constant stream}
                      So maybe it's more your luck when it comes to interferance.

                            Little thing on the bottom of my screen says "Connected at 7.6mbps"
                            Is this true or false ?
