im the double d,and im sure if we get the lighting right and a wide angle lens on,we might just squeeze in my wobbly butt.im going to wait till there are 12 surf/nude related pictures and see if dirtydog wants the franchise !!
Careful GW, or people will realise it takes a wide angle lens to take a pic of your butt
Its a good idea to keep the forum going.
£10 is peanuts compared to what the forum has saved me.
The only downside is there are members such as NiftyNev, although he does not contribute money, he does contribute a wealth of knowledge.
Maybe he along with others who provide their expetise (you know who they are) could be given lifetime membership for free so as not to lose their skills, and as a way of thanking them for their advice and time.
Just spent 70 minutes reading this - and that included skimming very very quickly over the pi55ing competition two thirds of the way through!
Without reading this I would not have known that a decision had been made to raise the subscription level.
It seems that many are in favour of paying more on a discretionary basis.
Some are also in favour of responding to appeals for one off donations if circumstances require it.
Many recognise that costs / donations / subscriptions are not at all well publicised on the site.
Can a few of these things be addressed - for example can a broadcast be sent to all paid up members notifying of the increased minimum membership fee - that way we should know that any broadcasts for future help (of the "we're short of £250" variety) will get to the right people.
Can a sticky or similar be created that explains the background to all this - stating the basic fee but also making clear that higher discretionary payments are welcome - and detailing any optional silver / chrome / pink stars that are awarded.
Personally I think there are now far too many stickies - we'll soon not be able to see any new threads until page 2 on the general section. Can some of these be moved to a FAQs or similar area allowing due prominence to be given to the subscription issue as one of a very very few stickies?
Just noticed the subscriptions sticky! Tw@t! However, probably reinforces the view that these are overused and with that lose impact. Still needs to be updated - and other suggestions / requests still hold good.

Nev is in a completely different category to most members. I doubt any of the admins would ever even consider mentioning anything regarding subscriptions to Nev, so it is pretty much a moot point in his case. He's our Oz Surf guru.
Apologies over that. (My opinion still stands though).
with the aid of two crutches and some hairy string.
anyhoos....as the forum needs money, and i need to get my kit off in public, suffering maximum embarrasment, and "shrinkage" if its to cold, anyone else care to take part in woodzie/melons little pet project,or am i destined to be getting naked in my usual manner
this forum needs a privert chat section for full members only
so some treads are kept from the public eye (like this one should be privert)
allso a full members privert tech section
just so it feels like there is more to be gained from haveing a full member ship
even if theres not
the public will join up if they feel that there is more to gain from it
i will be joining up next mounth and i will send a bit of loot to help out too
