  • Farm jack lifting points

Other than jackable sliders, where / what method is best to use as jacking points on a 2nd gen?

In other words, who's welded what to where to make useable jacking points?

I've jacked up from under the towbar before now, not using a farm jack, but i see no reason why it would be any different? Only thing you would have to watch is that the top of the jack didn't get pulled over into the tailgate as the angle of the jack will change as you jack it up.

Not sure it's exactly a recommended jacking point though...

you must have figured the standard bumper's strong enough to hold the weight of the truck when you drop it on it, so figures that'll be allright to jack on too

Yeah, guess you could jack on that to change a wheel...

I found the rear slung spare (when its a 33) hits the dirt before the bumper.

From bitter experience I can say that the front 'A' Bar and the rear tow hitch (just in cae you also have one on the front as well) are both unsuitable jacking points!

                  The 'A' Bar bends
The rear tow hitch pushes up into the rear bumper
The rear bumper also bends if you try to jack of that as well!

One of these days I'll get round to putting some proper jacking points on my 3rd Gen!!!!

it's to lift a vehicle corner if it's bedded - not for wheel changing
