  • im really pee'd with insurance company

just had my insurance renewal from churchill today n im not happy,
im 47 in march n over the years from 18 years of age ive been driving on n off company vechicles from cars upto big american campers basically the size of a artic, but since ive had my own transport ive now got 6 years no claims ive also lost years when i didnt have my own vechicle also, but been driving on n off since i was 18 with only 1 accident in all these years n that wasnt my fault it was some bloke who was pee'd out his head n who drove of n left me stranded in my ol escort to be cut out by firebrigade.
anyway churchill wants for this year,

    6 years noclaim discount 307.65
    no claim discount protection 38.85
    legal assistance service 24.15
    churchill breakdown services 169.05
total for this coming year 539.70

so as you can see im not happy with this quote n rightly told them to shove it where the sun dont shine.
so what i need is some good insurance companys who aint affraid to or hard to insure ol skull

Life sure was a tad over 200 for me but i am now with Admiral on an all car policy so my wee lass can have her micra fully comp. With the Surf and the Toyota 1600 twin cam Carina it's now about 700 that's my wife and i plus my 17 year old who just passed her test last week.

        I'm pleased with that.

That's terrible for someone of your distinguished years!
I'd look to a custom/kit car specialist -- although they might insist you modify it more.

I got mine for less than £300 from AutoTrader.

Try www.confused.com and www.comparethemarket.com When you find the cheapest insurer, call them direct and tell them the price you got online, they'll beat ot at least match it.

Also give Adrian Flux and Direct line a call.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Try Direct Line, I've got my renewal notice in front of me here.

                  Basic premium, £215.25
                  No claim discount protection £42.00
                  Motor legal protection £21.00

                  Total £278.25
I don't think I'll bother going anywhere else.
Anyway its a two by four most of the time....

If youre using it off-road, check that youre covered for that.
If you have ANY household insurance or Union membership, then chances are you already have Legal Protection, and as you only need that once, you dont need it on every policy.
If you tell them you dont want it they often give it free....a small saving.
Do you need breakdown cover?....I notice you didnt use it when you broke down recently....often cheaper with AA/Rac over the internet, £39.00?.
If youre fully comp, you dont have to take extra cover for your NCB, as you only lose a percentage, not all, of your No Claims in the event of an accident.

I was with Churchill prior to buying the Fronty, They wanted £200 to swap from an Astra, but when I complained it went to £90 for a full year Fully Comp!!
What have I told you about thinking Erroll

Just get the cheapest policy you can find, it doesn't matter what's written on it, the feckers don't pay out anyway!
