Seen the programme before, and it brought back memories of my previous Cortinas - and other Fords.
First of all Mk II 1600 Super 4 door (this was eventually fitted with Lotus engine and running gear when my mate wrote off his MkII Lotus on the old A33!!!),
next a MkIII 1600GT,
next a MkIII 2000GT, (sold after my sister removed a lamp post with it!!! ),
next a Mk1 fitted with Lotus running gear etc (great car but not a real Lotus!),
next - but not a Cortina and a few years on - a MkII XR2,
next, and at the same time Sierra Cosworth and a Series2 RS Turbo. The Cossie was the best Ford I ever owned, had it for 6 or so years and only sold it a couple of years ago although now I wish I never sold it!
I still like Fords, but not sure whether I would buy any of the current models - maybe the ST might tempt me
Cheers, Nick
