dont worry bout it,im off now,just checkits that fuse,im guessin u dont know how to check..........get long nose pliers pull it out,go indoors,look at side of fuse,wire inside shud go from one side to other,if it doesnt,change it,make sure its same as last,ie 15amp,if no luck,ill check back later

I thought the lighter/in dash 12 V was on the same fuse as the clock......so if your clock is working, your 12V socket should be too....
If, like mine the other day, the light is on around the outside, but there is no power, take the socket out, and push the contacts in at the bottom that would connect to the plug you push in (for sat nav etc.) then try it.....worked for me.
There is also a fuse wire around the bottom end of the socket, and if you push in and hold the lighter too much, you can burn this out - I've fixed one by just getting another piece of wire and soldering it onto the end.....
