Nope. Slugsie's in front now in the pedant stakes, so it was correct.

Read my sentence again. By virtue, if he has taken lead in the pedant stakes, that means that he is now in lead on the pedant front, hence the use of both words in my previous sentence. I'm referring to cumulative, whereas you were referring to specifics.

nope.that was an adverbial error.the subordinate meaning of the only (major) clause was implication,by way of usage.
eg front implying ahead and stakes implying .......what the hell was this thread about matt ?

well with regards to the proper thread issue,

we have christmas dinner on christmas eve, so we can spend the whole of christmas day opening pressies, eating cold turkey and generally slobbing.
come boxing day,it goes a bit like this.
kick out mother in law ,put beef dripping in the deep fat fryer to warm.
carve the ham, which has been previously, boiled with root vegetables, and baked with a nice glaze of some description.its so tender it falls apart.
serve with freshly fried fat chips, and a side of piccalilli so damm strong
it makes your eyes water.remove ones self from the table and sit on the sofa and gently "ruminate"
