  • Rear window - stuck down - HELP!

Hi guys (and at risk of an IOTW vote)

Just found the rear window fully down (wierd as I have not been in the car!) and it won't go up - using the key or the switch - still no go.

I can hear the relay clicking but no joy. All other windows are working.

    Fuses all look ok.

    Any ideas?

Any way I can wind the window up without dismantling the tailgate?????

    Thanks

        Update.

        The window is fully retracted.

Just stripped the tailgate - the window motor is too hot to touch - disconnected it now to stop it burning anything else.

I will see if I can get the glass up - any ideas?????????

Take the motor out push the window up from inside once tail is shut and jam mech with a bolt ect till you get the motor tested/changed

I think that you can disconnect the window from the runner when down ......just surport the glass or you'll have a mess to clear up

Doesn't look like - I changed the motor a while back - it was a total PITA with the window up.

Oh well - lets go and loose the skin off my knuckles.

i had same prob with mine window stuck down, i was lucky and back bit of metal had come unstuck from rubber, there was two small hole i could get two self tappers in through the holes in the metal and screw into the rubber, then i could get the window up to remove the motor.

Disconnect the plug on the rear wiper motor, as it's controlled by the relay module the same as the rear window, and see if that cures it. Water may have got into the wiper motor or connections causing a short.
It could also be the relay module itself thats at fault. I have a spare if you need one.

Good grief what a PITA that was.

Got the motor out - looks like it has burned out.

                              My poor knuckles...........
