  • Where do wasps come from????

I've got all the doors and windows closed in the house, have had since I got in last night, and now, out of nowhere, there is a chuffin great wasp buzzing about in the front window......I mean, come on........where??????

I've just moved out of a house with a nest in the attic (and got stung cos one was in the bed when I got in it) they must be following me.........

I think they get their energy from those light things, and come up to them with flys and stuff and have BBQs - they are fearless!

My sting took 4 weeks to stop itching, not nice at all - little sod was in the duvet - and no, I wasn't experimenting with inter species relationships....

You'll have to give me instructions on setting that up mate - the council dude came over to the other house, and said he'd exterminated them all - and said they were honey bees too - so a week later, up into the attic I go, to be confronted with hundreds of rather angry looking wasps - I guess it was the YTS guy that got sent to the house, either than or he pumped the wrong one....

Mind you, the ex lives there now - so at least she'll have some company - other than the guy who broke us up of course!

              this is what i do
i use an old rose from a watering can (also steel)
wedge the rose on to to paint striper (fill rose with tobaco first)
i myself put on protected over all on with hood (or motor bike helmet)
then i brave it out and smoke them out up close by just switcing on the paint striper and letting the tobaco burn (lasts around 40 seconds)
but a few years ago i had wasp's in the caverty wall
so i pipe to it with flexi hose off a dryer gaffer taped it up (sealed to air brick)
then blow the smoke down that it worked fine

for a loft (but please take care doing this) it lets off a vapur you cant see
mixx pipe tobaco with vodka (yes vodka) so there is just a bit more vodka than tobaco
get one of those oil burners (those candle smelly house hold thing)
light that with the mix of vodka and pipe tobaco (do not breath this in)
lets off a lot of hoursnic vapur's kills every thing in the air works well in green house and lofts leave it for about 12 hours (for in the house loft use half burnt candle) so it dont burn for a long time leve open up stairs windows and the back door
but i feel the paint striper is safer to use so i tend to use that myself
its a bit of missing about but you know the jobs done right (i was a gardener for a few years) these are realy old yorkshire tricks i was learnt
am not die lex sick its you that cant read mate

B&Q have something that looks like a tennis racket with metal strings, it also takes batteries and generates a high voltage between adjacent metal strings... its designed for swatting ...looks life fun if the impact does not get them the High Voltage will....

Nah, they don't work. They give a nippy shock, but the fact that they are hand held and touchable means they can't legally have the HT required to kill the buggers. They do sting like buggery after the thirtieth finger tap or so though.
