If you have something sharp to puncture the bottom of the bottle when you up end it, you don't have quite so much glugging making it pour faster.
I found a flexi nozzle from a plastic fuel can fitted on to the 3ltr bottles I was getting from Morrissons. I also have a funnel that I hold up with a bungee.
I tried decanting the bottles into a 20ltr gerry can, but it was just as slow as pooring it straight into the tank and then you were double handling it. It was ok to store it in the garage though, but I found it wasn't much cop for carrying extra for a long trip, as with the plastic bottles you don't have to bring them home once empty.
