Why not fit an LC80 series (looks like a big Surf) snorkle which fits onto the LHS wing - nice fresh air straight into your turbo. Filter the snorkle.

hmnn I didnt think about the fact it would be drawing hot air

What about if i used some pipework to put it up closer to the bulkhead? near the brake servo stuff? Would it restrict airflow if it was pointing away?

an Also Do those snorkels have to have any 'tweaking' done that you know of to get it too fit?

    Cheers

I made my very own lovely boyo special snorkle using a piece of pipe I had off ebay for 99p. Same principle as most LR side intakes.

Most of the proper snorkles fit very well - not much tweaking AFAIK.

I was going to fit a small removable 'chimney pipe' when wading - but its 45'' to the little speaker grill I fitted when I got my mud tyres on. My view is water that deep will be causing other problems ............

don't pay for apex-I. get simota, there the company who make the apex-I ones, so they're identical, but half the price. i've owned bot
for previous cars, n they're just the same.

having a air filter right on the turbo will be sucking in the hot air from the bay.
ive only noticed the performance gain because i removed the restrictive pipework from the turbo around the bay to the otherside of the bay where it was still sucking in warm air...

i dont want a snorkel. and ive not thought of a better idea to get air into the car without cutting another hole in the bonnet and poking the air filter through the bonnet like a turtle.

so, no new ideas = leave where it is lol. you get the nice turbo woosh, and Tish like that anyway.. but does get laggy off road = $$$$.

if you come up with any ideas, post them.

the whole issue is, getting filtered air into the turbo, then through a cooler then out of the cooler into the inlet of the engine.

how do the hummers intercooler system work when they have no scoop?
