  • 'high performance' Air filters.

Im on the hunt for a new air filter, Im planning on doing the side intercooler mod, Which to make room...i need a cone filter that i can put near to the turbo.

Are these universal ones that are less then £20 any good? Or is it a waste of time going for cheap... Is K&N really that good on a slow revving diesel model?

    Any tips would be great

Get a foam one if you want a high flow filter. But, by virtue, higher flow means less restriction, and there's only one way you can restrict the airflow less. You have to let more through, thereby allow larger particles through the filter.

      Foam?

Im not really after it as a performance mod as such (but every little helps)

Just after it to get the air box out of the way.

They make 'em with foam as well as paper elements.

Go on. Get over in the corner, facing the wall.

If you fit a filter near the turbo it will be drawing hot air from the engine bay into the turbo - so you really will need an intercooler.

Why not fit an LC80 series (looks like a big Surf) snorkle which fits onto the LHS wing - nice fresh air straight into your turbo. Filter the snorkle.

I keep meaning to get one for the supra!
                            More Lift.
                            More Tyres.
                            More Engine.

Well, you could do that if you wanted. Just make sure that you let the foam set fully for 24hrs before trying to start the engine. Then, I suggest you cover then end with some waterproofing agent, say a layer or two of rubber sheeting.

                              Obviously I'm kidding!
