  • Roughtrax??????????????

I ordered a new front anti roll bar link earlier this week: http://www.toyotahilux.com/?doc=16&cid=170&vid=923
    along with some other goodies.
Now the strange thing is, the product listing clearly states that it comes complete with 2 nuts, washers and bushes. When mine arrived this morning it was just the arm and the bottom nut in a sealed bag.
I wouldn't normally mind but it was the top nut that snapped off on mine when we were playing in muddy woods. This left me with no top washer or bushes from my old arm to fit to the new one. Roughtrax are usually spot on with their goods and deliver fast too but this time they've dissapointed. I read that Andy (legendgamemaster) recently had a rad with no ATF pipe fittings with it and had to call them back to get them posted out. Has anyone else bought one of these and if so did you get the lot or just the link and one nut?

    Clutch

Not had that part, but it went spectulary wrong when I ordered a
flywheel and clutch conversion kit recently,

I paid for it the Thursday, it was to be there for mechanic on Monday

    it was not dispatched
    TNT failed to deliver it
TNT were returning it to Bristol
I sat around a couple of times waiting for a phone call back from RT
    they never did....

it turned up at my house (Seven Miles from both garage and Truck)
    at 9PM One week later
and when I took it over to mechanic, he said the flywheel was suitable
but the clutch was the cheapest you can buy

Roughtrax apologised but then grandly told me,

'we will of course discount you on your NEXT purchase'

    I dont think so sadly

Well i sinceely hope they aren't going all cheap and tacky on us. Their parts are normally great quality and reasonably priced too. It's normally when they start cutting back on the little bits when things start going downhill. I'll be calling them tomorrow to see where the other bits have got to. If they are advertising the whole lot they should send it all out.

Keep us informed of the progress, we'll all be interested if r/t quality is going down.

I should mention I've used them once before with some success.

They took my money, and a day later a bonnet guard turned without event

                  (work address)
so I thought it'd be fine, and TBH it was just a comedy of errors
                  only without the comedy bit,
thers nothing more annoying than waiting on a phone call, moreover when it fails to happen and you have to chase it up to be told,

'well i've told TNT exactly where to deliver part theres, really nothing more I can do'

Much as I sympathise with the fact its gone tits up, i've kept my side of the bargain and paid a large amount of money for this to happen,

my mechanic has it in his garage where its been in the way of other scheduled work and he's entitled to be cross about it.

I would've liked them to say something more like this....

we dont know where it is
                  we $$$$ed up
we have sent another out on (another courier)
                  we expect it there Tommorrow
                  we are sorry

instead of which it turned up miles away from where it was destined,
the mechanic trades from an ex-farm, he and his neighbouring businesses
see vans and factors, in & out allday
its substantially nearer TNT's depot than my house ever will be

the garage web-site features a perfectly good map????

You'll probably find it's down to TNT rather than Roughtrax. Barry sent out a new exhaust main box for me, to be delivered to work. TNT took a couple of days extra to deliver it and then lost a few of the fixing bolts Barry had supplied for me as the originals broke off in the old box. They were bagged and securely taped to the outside of the exhaust but TNT managed to cut the bag and lose them. Barry very kindly found two more and posted them to home in a Jiffy bag, arrived next day.

That said, I've heard other problems with TNT, so maybe Barry could look at using another carrier, although they can all be $$$$, especially

Citylink lost an entire tyre for me (how, you ask!?) and seemed unable or unwilling to help.

In the end, the company I bought them off (Camskill Performance - big UP!) sent another out by express courier at their cost.

                            Re

I have ordered about £1,500 worth of bits and pieces over the last few months and I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS from Barry and Angela.

Their service is first rate and Barry is always on hand to give out really valuble advice etc.

For example, he told me step by step how to do a cam belt change the easy way!

(Thanks TonyN for your help also, it worked a treat!)

                            It was marvellous!

I am very sure that any problems have been down to couriers because they are as reliable as the weather.

I would buy Barry's stuff again and again without hesitation!

                            Regards,

                            Dan McCartan

Have had three orders from Roughtraxx.

All were delivered the next day with no probs (apart from damage to packing caused by courier)

Was a problem with the one order and they got back to me 10mins after order placed to say could only send part of order. Asked me whether to split or delay the order. Second half sent out few days later.
