max can you post all details of all little odd bits n pieces so we can all read just in case we come accross one. i mean things like where a sticker used to be and you can still see the outline, or weird scratches or dents anything at all.

what are alpha dots? sounds like drugs...

i will look into getting us all some sort of stickers for our windows. i know they are rarely taken notice of but with a flashing LED at least it might make them have a second think.

      hope you get it back.

Erm.. There is the forum sticker on the tail gate where the SSR badge was. There is a dent in the rear pillar from the tailgate to the roof on the nearside.

There is a TOM's sticker (red) on the offside rear quarter window, the blue star sticker is in the middle of the windscreen.

Drivers door has a couple of scratches on, not deep but long. Bonnet has the stick on reg plate.

Stereo is a Sony MP3 cd, but I have the face, all the speakers are Sony also.

        Tires are Colways ATs.

Cooking oil kit fitted which may come on eBay if its broken for bits.

Recaro trim with the good old wear/rip in the drivers sear near to where the door is.

Its all the other things in the car which you cant claim for which p1sses me off. £300 climbing coat in the boot, £90 hiking boots.. tools, cds, the stereo set me back over £250 all in all.. Ah well, thats the second Surf down the pan.. just wondering if I should go back to Land Rovers.. only joking !

good advice, now i know what they are!
doesnt say how to get them though, sounds expensive too but i suppose worth it, even better if insurers give discount because of it

Datatag is a similar idea, available here for a bike sized kit. If you get 750 microdots it may do the job?

Sorry to hear about the lost, thieving barstewards. Hope they get what's coming to them. Keep an eye on e-bay, freeads etc for someone breaking a surf local to you, if it has been broken for parts.

sorry to hear your surf got nicked, castration is too light a punishment, now thinking of investing in this:-

                        ebay item no 320142071261

can't afford a proper tracker, but this looks just as good

if you're gonna go for that you might aswell hardwire an old phone in, somewhere hidden away up under the dash or behind the trim in the boot would be an interesting one, thieves aint used to things at the rear of the motor, alarms are always behind the dash/kick panels/centre console or under the bonnet. Then register it to something like http://www.followus.co.uk/index.html, an old nokia with the keypad removed would be great as none of the buttons would be able to be pressed, tape up the button holes on the fascia to limit the amount of dust that get's in.

Real sorry to here that Max. I had a streetfighter motorcycle nicked that took me 8yrs to build not to mention an 18k caravan and my sons 20k works Land Rover so I know how you feel.
These might not be the right words for you to here but sometimes its better to not get them back. They just don't feel the same when someone else has had them. Maybe it would be better to claim the insurance money and buy a better one. Saying that I will keep my eyes peeled for ya and I hope the scumbags get what they deserve.
                            Steve.
