The aussies are big into them and fit them to pretty much everything... there is some good info on them on the toymods forum (www.toymods.net), I'll bet they sell off the shelf conversion kits too for any mounts etc...

They are not nice to change a starter motor on though

Changing the starter contacts and timing belt when I lift the engine out of the Lexus. Got to find a suitable remote oil filter too or a short stumpy one as space is very tight against the chassis rails for the stock filter in the Surf's engine bay. I want to get some good quality plug leads too.
Know where to get type IV transmission fluid cheap? Lexus/Toyota want around £10 per litre!!

    Your link doesn't work BTW.

it all sounds nice but what about when it breaks down,at least with a rover or a chevy unit you can normally get things going again on the road side, with a bit of tin foil and some paper clips.to many electronics involved for my liking.and costly repairs no doubt.

                        Sorry, wrong link.....

                        http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html

I've spent most of this year gathering all the info I need to carry out the swap, so hopefully it should all be plain sailing.

No disresect to the American and Aussie guys who have carried out the swap, but they do seem to over complicate things.
