Admit it 2.4 owners! WE ALL want more power.

    fuel bills will suck though....

The mpg is the same as the Surf, but the Lexus engine needs super unleaded so the fuel price per litre will cost the same as diesel.

It's what the engine and the ECU were designed/ programmed for. Some owners are getting low 30s mpg on a run.

p.s. this is what it sounds like BTW.....(you'll need good speakers to hear the low grumble)

If you go ahead with that i'd love to know costs/time etc

Im at the point where me and the 2.4 are falling out!

I was going to fit the V6 out of the scimitar BUT! for all the costs and work involved for an extra 50bhp it didnt seem worth skimping out on the engine!

are you another hilux / scimitar owner out there then chap?

30mpg!!! Bloomin 'eck! Thats damn good! Im expecting to drop to 17-20mpg with the fitment of the larger tyres. So even if its 20mpg its still cool!! I dont do a huge amount of driving anyway.

And regards to the vid/audio clip... Cheers mate! Might need some new boxers now!

Awesome sound! Ive got a SS exhaust already, Would it be possible to plump one of the exhausts into that?

Indeed i am mate! The Scimitar is my dads really but it was going to be used as a 'pool' car. Everyone insured and just take it out when we feel like it. Its not had much use to be honest!

Got another one up a friend of ours yard, loaded with bits!

Had a 4spd tranny with overdrive but someone had that!

Yeah, the exhaust is going to be a 'make it up as I go along' type of fitment.
The guys who have already done the conversion say there are clearance issues, but if you've got an angle grinder and welder it can be sorted.
Nigel at LA Supertrux is getting some headers fabbed up to sell as an off-the-shelf item. for Lexus V8 conversions.

Yeah i remember hearing issues with the sump, Where abouts does it clash?

I think twisty on one surf site whos done the swap said with a 2" body lift you can overcome any issues, If not do you know what part needs to be grinded/welded etc?

Yeah, the sump is another head-ache if keeping the front diff, but diff drop spacers will sort that out.

No problem if RWD only though .

I've got a set of 1" diff drop spacers sat about 3ft away from me at the moment!

i'd love to keep 4wd if possible, I have plans to use it when ive sorted out getting rid of my large exhaust and got some machos on.

One thing i'm thinking a lot about is the electrics, Is changing the loom etc a hard job? Strikes me there could be a lorra lorra cables!!!
