hehehe doesnt that remind you of another forum sometimes.when i joined yotatech i said that it was nice of the aussies to let us come on here why our forum was down for a couple of weeks.silly me it was the american forum.but they were great only our guys ripped the pi$$ out of me.namely woodzie, matt, trev and stormy.
Ahhh... The US of A. Where they let 'weekend warriors' loose with Apache gunships armed to the teeth! Nutters!
Ive been tempted with and intercooler, Would have to be side mount as i have currently no real plans for a body lift, I think its Dieselboy or Tony whos got a side mount isnt it?
Any idea if they are worth the extra buck for the bang? so to speak
yes i have an L200 one that the previous owner fitted. its got pipework thats a bit too small for it really but ill sort that some other time.
when i have some spare pennies ill fit a water spray to hose it down when needed. if ive been in traffic or whatever its hot to touch which aint good i dont think.
on the motorway it pulls past 90. the bonnet scoop must help.

what boost are you running?
No idea what boost im running mate, one day i plan to fit a boost guage and water temp dial! so i can really see whats happening!
it does make a good plough though.anyone want any ditches digging.and vince come on 50 mph in first PAH.have you got your drive leveled now then as well.

when i was running 12 -14 psi it was very quick i thought, well for a big diesel truck thats supposed to be slow. loads of torque but dropped off quickly.
boost gauges are simple.
then just wind the actuator out to give you more boost.
if your running standard then thats probably why you feel your truck is slow. get a decent air filter in there, and stick 3 washers on each bolt of your actuator
if you move your air filter more towards the turbo you get it whistling as it sucks, and then you hear a dump when you take your foot off the accelerator. and i still dont know where it comes from!

I was tempted a while back about putting a K&N near the turbo, but i have (had) plans for a safari/Tjm snorkel. Which wouldn't work with a k&n.
On flat ground im not unhappy with performance, hills suck the $$$$ outta it! And it would just be nice to have some power on tap kinda thing!
I wouldn't be running a V8 flat out 100% of the time, But i do sometimes with the 2.4.
At the end of the day, The conversion for me comes down to time & Money, If it makes months and months and costs thousands then i would be tempted to not bother, Im just interested in the Lexus V8 because as far as swaps go, It seems the best one.
i agree with u. v8 would be good. especially with 30mpg.
if there was someone i could take the car to, have all the bits there already, and i could help do it, i would save up and do mine.
probably a really sensible mod!

Thats it exactly! 30mpg....i mean c'mon its not as if you have to face harsh american syle fuel consumtion!
My uncle probably has all the tools and know how to do it. I wouldn't like to say how many days it would take. The company he works for use toyota engines in everything so he knows them fairly well!
BUT! my dads already doing the "you dont want thaaaaat" etc etc
Ive said its not in any imediate mod list. But in a few months or somet! Would be so exciting driving a v8 surf!
