Now THAT sounds awesome! They had something like 230bhp NA, so with twin turbos, must have been over 300?
No, it was only a 2.0, the normal V6 was a 3.0.
Something to do with Italian tax laws and a higher band above 2.0. They dropped the capacity of the V6 engine down to 2 litres, then stuck the turbo (may have been one, not sure) on to bring it back up to the same power.
After a quick google, looks like a few of the eye-ties have turbocharged the 3.0V6.....

A 2.0 V6? Must have been like a bit of jewellery. Nice.
Ferrari, Alfa, and Masseratti (I think) are all part of the FIAT motor group, however my work colleague was going to be buying a new Brera, to replace his current 156 GTA, however a couple of weeks ago on the way to work, the timing belt snapped, his poor 156 is being fixed and he's trying to get Alfa to pay for the damage to the engine. The timing belt wasn't due for replacement and the car has been to an Alfa dealer for all servicing. He's been relligated to driving his wife's FIat Sciecento.
There are 10 kind of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

The independent Alfa specialist I used to use recommended timing belt at 50k miles, then 40k miles onwards on the 2.0 twinspark. He reckoned that all Alfa's engine service intervals were 'optimistic'. The GTa is the 2.5 V6 isn't it? I dunno whether shorter belt change intervals is recommended for them too.
Still despite this supposedly lower than average reliability, I'd rather have one than a rep-box.

Aye, its a smashing car and nips on somewhat, its a 3.2 V6, with a dodgy timing belt not so nippy.

I used to have a 500 (and my mum had one when I was a kid). Brilliant cars. Handled like a mini, looked a lot better and had a massive sunroof. If they release an Abarth model of that new one, I will buy it.
