    ah

    Thats good to know,
I wouldn't of course risk it myself (not if you knew me)

but its handy knowledge to be armed with, especially with infrequently used equipment.

Do you know they want £340
    for a Three way fridge,
thats nearly double what I paid for the house one,
and its only in use on a handful of occasions a year

Yeah, I know that the smaller things are the more they cost, but you may find a whole caravan for sale somewhere with working fridge and heater for less than £500, and then still sell it on for the same without the bits you need

      Still working for the man!

Not sure if this has been covered, but I used to have a VW camper with blown air heating.

It would stop working if either the gas or battery where running down. Have you tried the heating system with the engine running, not an obvious idea but might help you work out if battery voltage to low for system to fire up.

              Just had a reply from
              Gary on my heater,

gist is he's not seen one like it in ages, the last one he saw had some corrosion in One of the few moving parts,

He went on to say Truma (manuf)
are in no hurry on after sales service.

              Armed with this info,
and following a report by local dealership on repairs such as this,
I've been looking again on E-bay
              at Eberspacher Diesel fueled units

But does anyone know another outlet of new/used stock,
as E-bay a bit few & far between

                Success!!!!

After removing redundant fridge which failed to work
                despite best efforts, and then
starting again with the wiring which appeared to have been superglued together in places,

I now have heat at last, I'm glad with this little success although suprised at lack of people in the VW world at least unprpared to make a few bob
by offering a service fixing these things
plumbers don't want to get involved its not in a house,

and suggestions from this place apart, I had very little to go by

the manufacturers are perhaps surprisingly less than helpful
                although German
                still,

                thanks for offering some pointers

                I'll bet no-one knows who sell 12V Telly's though
