I've always said 'h-eye-luks' but I could be wrong!

I dont think the 'lux' has anything to do with luxury, but again, compared to Landrover Defenders, they are indeed as luxurious as a beverly hills mansion!

hilux is actually a japanese phrase which roughly translates to "hard as f$$k"

thats true, as i am in fact an amateur japanese sumo wrestler, or a rikishi as its known in the trade and a jap pal of mine told me this is the meaning of hilux or hi-lux.
