OK drove it today (first time since i did the screw, apart from the "test drive") and it was'nt so good, only difference is when i tested it i drove it without the air filter and top on, put it back on when i got back, so i reccon i need a new air filter, did'nt think too much about it at the time cos it looked pretty clean, It sounded better with it off as well but i dont want bugs getting sucked in thereToo young to die and too old to give a toss

your luck at the moment Ian, it's liable to be a blocked intake.

Had a quick look, seems a good site, might have to join that,
so its the boost compensator we're messing with right!
try'ed it on a short trip tonight with the air filter "elbow" disconnected and turned to face the engine and it's still the same, Will try it tomrrrow with the filter out and see, This f**ker will run right or i'll shoot itToo young to die and too old to give a toss

Well, just thought I'd post the link again for the initial discussion that started
this idea on the OZ site. There's been some more info added of late.

Had a quick butcher's but most of it went over my head, Bigger exhaust helps is what i gathered, think i need one about 12" dia,
I've try'ed it with the air filter removed a couple of times now and it does seem slightly better, it seems to like cool moist air, runs better then, i think there are other issues with the engine, but it'll have to waitToo young to die and too old to give a toss

Thing is Matt, (if things work out OK after christmas) i intend to blitz the truck, and do a load of stuff in one go, prob take it off the road for a while, this includes new injectors, glow plugs, timeing belt (and all other belts) sort out the cooling system, remove AC gear and fit second rad / fans etc, underseal, fit towbar and rear bars, fabricate summat to take a small hoist to the tow bar, intercooler and 3" exhaust, and a few other bits, for now though i'll just get a new filter and some ATF fluid to run through the engine,Too young to die and too old to give a toss
