  • air con question

if i inadvertantly degassed my air con whilst getting to the faulty alternator is it a good idea not to put the belt back on in case it is out of gas/lub and seizes up? been doing a search on it and it says that they can break if they run dry i think???? can really afford to get it regassed at the mo as am going to have to fork out for a new alternator . also has any one had any success with the diy regassing, is so, is it a problem that all my gas escaped upon removal of incorrect bolt

sorry to keep asking questions but its your own faults cos your so dam good at giving answers!

And there's a pressure switch on the system as well, so if there was no gas, the clutch wouldn't engage anyway.
        It just does, OK?
