I have changed the water coolant, thermo and rad cap (dealer parts). I have travelled for miles and miles, down to cornwell and back, then cheshire and back, no overheating problems, but the temp gauge goes up higher than it used to and every now and then i have a little pool of coolant on the drive in the morning?

The weep holes in these are actually positioned outside the timing belt cover. Think about it. Why have them and then cover them up. There should be a seal around the water pump to isolate inner and outer parts of the pump. Internal leaks are usually the gasket or in severe cases corrosion of the pump body.

If you mean the short metal pipe that comes from the thermostat housing, pull off the rubber hose and make sure the metal pipe is clear. Mine was all clogged up and preventing the coolant from going back into the engine from the expansion tank as it cooled.
Also, make sure the rubber ring/gasket is OK on the rad cap and sealing against the neck of the thermostat housing.
