Well I'm a postie who delivers to a local MP so will give him a copy too. Being as its a rural round guess he might even listen as there are more 4X4's on the roads round where I work than cars. I also feel strongly about the tax on veg oil and wrote into Radio 1 news team about the subject after they slated 4X4's as gas guzzlers. If this government or any other is serious about green ways then why do they not give incentives to use veg oil and also make it a dam sight easier to pay the tax ! one nice simple form "how much used last month" thats all they need to know. End rant

OK, head on the block time. The following is my take on how I, & I hope others, feel on this subject. Please feel free to make any comments/ alterations but I feel as a group, I'd prefer if we all sent the same letter rather loads of variations of a theme. Please distribute it around as many other sites that might be interested as you can. The wider the audience, the greater the effect. I really don't mind if everyone thinks the letter is total pants as long as it inspires someone to write a better one. If someone can, I'm happy to go with it. As I said originally, its about standing up & shouting back for a change & if enough of us shout, who knows what might happen.

Please note, I didn't want to make the letter too long winded. Just explain our poit of view & ask for a direct answer (from a politician? fat chance). It will be interesting to see the answers!

I should have said I tried to upload a word doc but the file size was too big. Please excuse the txt doc & I hope you can read it OK. If anyone wants a copy of the original doc (or a revised one if we make any changes) let me know. I'll try & set it up so that all you have to do is insert your own name & address & the name & address of you MP.

If you live in Scotland or Wales, please consider sending it to your Assembly member or MSP too, why should they get away with it!

Standard plaintext is a more useful format than .doc. Remember, to a large
degree, word documents are tied to a specific system and software. Plaintext
is universal, (other than Windows/Unix differentiations of how to do carriage
returns).

Count me in, i wish i was elequant (? you know what i mean) enough to put a letter together myself, and had the brains to be able to quote the facts, i would be very happy to post a copy to my MP, Well done Mike, as you say it would be great to get other car clubs to join in not just 4x4s but all road users, larger cars are getting hammered as well as the so called 4x4, and an awfull lot are diesil,

got it saved and sent to works computer as they got a better printer than me so it will be done and sent in the next 2 days
