Its a load of old tosh!! they must think the genral public are idiots!
Its another way for the gov to make more dosh and it just happens to be the motorist that get it in the neck.

At this present time there are that many do-gooders trying to put the world to right's and a small percentage of the voters/genral public are following this. So this gives the gov the chance to sneak in there and put tax on anything related to vehicles ( 4x4's) and tax wot they want, they get the do-gooders and there followers votes. But little do some of these do-gooders and there sheep realise is that the tax is affecting everybody not just people who wish to have a vehicle of there choice.

They will never let ozone freindly fuel be tax free or reduced to a small amount until they figure out another way of getting the revenue.

The gov as declared that a battery operated car ( cant remember the name) will not have to pay tax or any parking fees, this can be done with confidence as they know only a very small percentage of the population will choose to buy one, but by doing this they are making it look like they are doing somet towards ozone problem, thus creating a voting cast from the green people and other save the world type people. Even though the uk as been said to be the worst in europe for polution.

so now they are going to charge for parking as well as tolls, high road tax, outrageous fuel tax, before we know it they will be charging for the colour of your vehicle cause some colours are faster than others arnt they!

iam affraid to say it but this country is a total shambles, and is going backwards while the new super powers like china overtake our once huge empire.
it is a shame to say that this problem is going to get worse, and i do fear for my daughter who will have to put up with rubbish 10 fold in fifty years time, how much can this country take before it pops??

well thats my pennies worth any way

and do we get a discount off our heating bills

if the goverment was that worried about global warming they would stop the sale of 4x4 and ban them on roads ,

I drive a 4x4 because I choose to. Personal choice is a right I believe (let me know if i am wrong) in a democracy so I/we should not be taxed anymore than the next road user just because our choice is not in line with the PC brigade. If they are so worried about global warming then they can go talk to the Chinese and Indians about pollution.

'They' already did. The Kyoto Protocol has been signed and ratified by both India and China. I think maybe you should pointing at the two big red countries full of fat people driving V8s:

The other thing of course is that if you can afford to live in Richmond, then the chances are that you won't notice the extra ew £££'s. Not that that justifies what they're trying to do mind you. Thank gawd I never plan on living in a city. In fact if it was at all feasible I'd be even closer to considering leaving this country.

thats because most radio one listeners havent got past adding yet, saying 4x4 would only confuse them...

Perhaps it might be wise to get some sort of documentationfrom Toyota confirming that at least the series 1&2 are 2 wheel drive on road -I knew there was a reason I preferred the S 2
never know when it might come in handy!!!

On the news tonight the reporter was fishing for favourable answers on how good this tax raising idea was and one young lady retorted "I will need to get a Mini"!!!

neither do i, but my house used to be on the outskirts of a village... now it's about 1/2 a mile inside the city of vodafone...

you can't park in the "city" centre anyway as it's pedestrianised... but the dumb council have overlooked that you have to drive an extra 2 miles round to get from one side of town to the other!

could be worse... it could be Bracknell!
