The main beam of my back bumper is made from 80mm sq x 5mm wall - the same size only metric The side plates are 3mm thick sheet and it's plenty heavy enough.

I'm going to use blue band steam tube. I think red band would be too heavy.

I used to have a Witter tow bar and the fitment for that is in 2 bits - the main bar bolts to a pair of brackets which in turn bolt to the chassis. When I made the bumper I reproduced the towbar part that bolts to the chassis brackets using some heavy angle I had lying around.

Would this style be legal in this country???
Would the narrow edges on side plate be classed as dangerous???????

Loks like a bit of box section with some 5mm shaped plate slapped on either side.

                            Simple but effective

I was thinking along the same lines, using the tow bar fixing points. Is there any chane you could take pic of the fixings?

Need to get something done as the back end is looking bare without the stock bumper on!
