  • HGV Drivers

To all the HGV drivers on here. Have you any information about driving in Canada? They seem to be on a big recruiting drive for UK truck drivers over there. I don't know what the score is, but it sounds quite interesting. I wouldn't mind living in canada.

How strange. I've just been reading an article about future world economic powers and Canada's going to be it. They got coal, oil, metals etc etc. Only second to Saudi for oil reserves.

And of all things, they got loads of water which is going to become one of the most sought after commodoties in the future. Water!

Visited there a few years back - it's stunning. And cold.

i came to a dead end looking... the internet seems full of agencies wanting 2 grand to "process your application" but no real info!

my mate did some farming there a few summers and told me about it, and ex's friend was canadian and said they were shouting for drivers...

all i really found out is that you have to have had your license for 5yrs.

I have found a few links that tell you all about it. Here they are. If you go into detail on the bottom site it tells you what trades are needed in the different regions. At least two are desperate for long haul truck drivers.

                www.immigration.ca

                www.willisbrazolot.com

Look what you can buy for your money out there. Just look at this property for an example. 4 bedroom house and 160 YES, 160 ACRES all for £61,500. Don't that make you sick.

Here is a link to some truck driving jobs in Saskatchewan. I bet there is no Polish over there taking all the jobs!! There are a lot in the oil and gas fields too.

Jobs, they have plenty. The best thing is, as the Sas government is desperate for drivers, they fast track your visa application.

Just looked up the diesel prices for Canada. 46.9 pence per litre. Now that's what I call cheap.

we are already giving it serious thought, fed up with this goverments laws on tax, immigration and just about everything else the wan*ers think up, however we"ve decided on a new baby first so we"re gonna get all the sleepless nights out the way in the comfort of our own home, but i strongly doubt my younger ones will grow up in this once great country ours
