  • More low down grunt please

Thats all I want, any ideas ?
I have 3 washers behind turbo & egr mod, would just be nice if there wasnt such a sattelite delay in pulling away/low down throttle.
Has anyone tried the Bobbox ?
Hard facts please, no hearsay !!!!
    Cheers

I'm waiting for hard facts on the Bobbox too. It's unusual to not get answers quickly from this forum, but this request seems to have met with silence

Come on curious bobbox owner, take it apart and tell us whats in the box!

Wish i knew, Could certainly do with a bit more lower end, Dropped my daughter off in her dead end narrow road and i had a job to get it to mount the kerb going backwards (3point turn), I can just imageine going off road,
I'd have to get a tow out of the car park!, I'm always suspicious of things that are supposed to increase your mileage or make it go like $hit off a shovel
and as vince said it could be adding even more stress to an already overstressed engine, Gonna try 3-4 bottles of redex in one go and see if that clear's it out a bit, If that works then i need new injectors,

Over size injector nozzles will add about 20 bhp to a TDi engine....in theory they should do the same....you'll need to turn down the idle fuelling tho.

Sounds to me like you've got something wrong with the truck!!!

I've just fitted a bobbox(and no, I'm not gonna take it apart!!) and it has just made the truck much more lively. It's get up and go has come back. I can easily spin the wheels on roundabouts, or pulling out of junctions. (before the Bobbox, I had to really try )

Even before the Bobbox, tho, my truck would never struggle to get up a kerb!!!

I use veg-oil, and find that it does block up the injectors after a while, but a bottle of redex into a nearly empty tank, soon clears the problem. Suggest you try that first.
                It just does, OK?

Oh, go on Dave, there may be an adjuster screw in there to get even more power!

I'm still inclined to think my problem is injectors (dirty or just worn) and this is my fault, It was very bad when i bought it, bad starting and really struggled to get up our road which only has a slight incline, After three weeks of adding Whynns it was a 100% better, starting first time (which it has continued to do) and pulling better, I intended to replace the injectors but im afraid i was tempted by the bright side, bull bars, spots and other bling and have kept putting off getting injectors, So its my fault entirely really, Its just gradually got worse, When its cold though its a lot better (denser air),

Mine can get up curbs no prob, but like other folk on here, its initial pulling away is to be desired??? It can wheel spin, but only now and then? Does the washers on the actuator just bring the turbo in earlier on the surf engine? It does on quite a few other cars i have tinkered with. If i could get the turbo to kick in at just over 1000rpm then i reckon this should sort it?

The washers increase the boost pressure.
