Well got a bit further today but rain has stopped play yet again , and i have had to fiberglass up a hole in a elbow ..Next step is the bracket for the pipe up the A pillar ,then when all that is done make the template for the wing and cut the hole ( the most scary bit of this project)

Ooooh, where did you get those tyres, who makes them, how much, etc...

The insa turbo sahara, 235/85 R16 is �63 (cheapest I've found so far), and comes out at 31.7" tall, just a smiggin larger (and slightly narrower)than my current 31 10.50 R15's BFG's, so should fit fine on the rims, and in the arches...

The tyres are Micky Thompson BAJA Claws . Got them off ebay . You can get them from www.bronco4x4.com but they are not cheap and i don't think i will ever be able to afford another set when these wear out

Thought they were... likes the look, didn't like the price.

Have a look at the other images....

Can't find anyone who quotes on the Yokohama Geolanders, although I get they aren't cheap...

How comes they never look as chunky as they do in the images....?

And the tread depth is always less thant the pics show....
Sorry all for dragging this project out but i have to fit it in around work ,weather , kids ,dog and most importantly the wife ..... thankfully shes watching big brother ....

Looking good, Eagerly awaiting the final results!, I'd love a safari snorkel but
cant afford one, Those wheels you got (rims not the tyres) Red iodonised
split rims? are they available as aftermarket or were they a standard surf fitting at some time? There me favorites, been looking for some for ages.

I do not know what the rims are but i need a fifth one for a spare and �120 for a tyre ........ the grief we have to go through owning a surf

You said it, Never been so skint!, Im sort of pricing jobs according to what i want for the truck at the time, Like a day working in brighton will get me a towbar and so on,

Still waiting for the safari head thats coming from australia... the only place i could get one at a reasonable price...
curently cutting the inner body work to take the pipe in the wing
