I have almost persuaded my wife that the steps should come off and be replaced by keeping a step in the back to help my mother in law into the car. I don't actually like the steps for one reason apart from the looks. When I get into the Surf on a wet day in my suit, I often get mud on it from the side steps as they stick out too far. It's OK on the way to one.

Yeah, the Badlands sound a bit stronger than the Smittybuilt ones from the review. Seeing as I want them for off road protection, I'd chose the Badlands.
