I have e-mailed Jeff at Badlands asking for a group buy price , so will let you know what he says ASAP .

Being ever so slightly vertically challenged ( 5'6" ) I have a practical use for the side steps. Also, looking at the dent I have in my n/s step - I'd rather it was there instead of in the sill. They make great pivots for getting all four wheels off the ground (TonyN pulled me off the hump).

A guy near me has a Toyota monster pickup. His steps fold away after he has climbed aboard.............gives me vertigo thinking about it

I,m rather taken with the 2 sets at the bottom of this page at
          http://www.formula4x4.com/side2.htm

I don,t know how effective they would be as rock sliders but they look great.
Theres a meaty S/S option with cut-away steps & some close fitting bars
The price of the bar-only ones seems cheap.
I don,t know if they make either to fit the surf but I thought I might get a S/S fabricator to knock me some up cheap.

Gonna weld a couple of scaffold poles to the steps brackets should do the trick.

I was thinking along those lines, Nigel. Great minds/fools seldom etc...... Is it possible to chrome over galvanised steel? Maybe that stick-on chrome sticky back plastic would finish it off nicely
