    Results are in

Jon informed me the results have been posted for final finishing positions .
We came 20th out of 57 . A bit down on last year , but with vehicle trouble I think a respectable result and with the 2nd place Night Nav award a good overall performance

Well after 4 days being back home I have finally decided to give you all my thoughts of the Mac weekend

On Monday had you asked if i had enjoyed this years Mac as much as last year I would have said no, But taking time and thinking back on it the answer now would be yes.

What we have to remember is that both Rick & I were suffering from flu & then on the Friday night 3 hours after the start the truck decided to lose its gearbox oil so we had to make the decision whether to board the ferry to Ireland or not(you have to remember that we have no idea where we are going until we get our road book). Once in Ireland and we had topped up the gearbox oil the truck seemed to run fine until the power steering pump decided to seize, okay cut the belt off (didn't seem to make any difference to the steering ??)and off we go again .Whats going to go wrong next ??, Well as luck would have it nothing until we were told to find our way to Dublin port(no maps provided), Do the Irish like to put up sign posts , do they heck , so more stress thinking we were going to miss the ferry!.

These are just the things that got me down over the weekend that is why my answer would now be yes I did enjoy it, I just needed a bit of time to put things in prospective.

We raised over £1700 for a very worthy charity, met some great people who were all there for the same reason to have fun doing what they enjoyed while helping others.

Would I do it again ?. Just try and stop me
Any one can drive a car, but to plot the maps and navigate is a dam sight harder, My thanks to Rick for putting up with me

There are a load of pics here from the weekend

It takes a skilled driver to work from my instructions , which , to be honest , are not the correct ones all the time .I enjoy the navigating ,especially when the plotting , which Jon helps with , is spot on and we just drive past other teams sitting scratching their heads confused . .
It is a team effort and a 2 way thing , Jon blows his top in Dublin and I wanted to aswell .If I was in his shoes I would have been worse !!.

We WILL be signed up for next year , try and stop us . As long as Jon wants me as his team mate I will do the job .

Tim , we will find you a navigator and train them .Ask your family and friends unless someone on here wants to offer .

The skill in being a good navigator is making the driver believe it's his fault whenever you make a mistake
