After watching 2 Fast 2 Furious last night i'm on a mission!!
Now I have THE BEST 4x4 (Surf) I want a go fast car as well as a go anywhere car..
I have put some thought into this and decided I want a classic car, somthing like a '69 MG MGB Roadster, or possibly a MG Midget that I am going to tune as much as possible!
It must look Great - Be convertable (removable hard top, or soft top - don't care) and somthing that isn't too dificult to source parts for.
I intend to completly re-do the interior, fit racing seats, ICE, Sat Nav and anything else my bank account will allow me to, I also want to look into the possibility of fitting a turbo and NOS to it. (seems a bit mad I know - but it'd probably be the only one in existence once I'd finished!)
What I'm looking for is suggestions as to other models I should be looking at, (Not american) and any pics of other Mod'd "Classics" you know of.
This is going to be my project for the summer! Hopefully finnished or atleast nearly finished in time for a cruise in the warm weather!
Suggestions on a postcard below!
Joe,
Why not consider a Triumph tr8 which was a tr7 with the buick (some call it rover) v8 engine in it. It was available in a drop top as I recall. Must be thin on the ground but you will find one.

Al.
Yeah, another nice looking car. It was a Rover engine by then, it was to small and light for the yanks, so they sold it to Rover in 1965ish

I've decided, I'm goiong for the MG MGB Roadster... Will psot some piccies of the car when i get it (about a week or so) and then ongoing "work in progress" pics...
this is gonna be a massive learning curve and probably an expensive one aswell!!
How about an early (pre-70s) Mustang or (1st generation) Camaro/Firebird?
If you want to go fast it's easier with 5 litres of engine than with 1.3 (Midget), and they look great.
Lots of bits available over the net and some, apparently, go round corners.
