Yeah... Thats what I've been looking at. Now....... Imagine that in 2 tone paint (Dark Blue and Purple) Big fat alloys, Scorpion Bucket Seats and 5 point Harness, A FAT exhaust that produces More Db than a Fighter Jet and a couple of bottles of NOS in the boot
Pwhooorrrrrrr!
Go and buy this months retro cars mag. Got a very nice looking MGB V8, with a 4 litre (prob TVR) in it!
Also in last months there was a midget with a RX7 lump in it! Nice motor, fantastic power to weight ratio! Bstards if they went wrong
On of my all time favourite classics, if only for rarity value, has to be the Opel GT.
I actually had one for a while (not the one below, twas a restoration project - read Car and many boxes of parts ) but had to get rid of it due to lack of space at the time, even worse it was an original Irish registered one not an import and was the same age as myself, built and registered in 1969 .
At least it went to a mate who's into Opels/Vauxhalls, its now garaged awaiting restoration beside an Opel Manta 'B' and a Vauxhall Magnum
There's a firm not far from me (Derby area I think) that has bought the pressign jigs for he old Jag mkII (the one Morse used the drive)
What they do is take old body shells (I think they also own patent on shells for MG roadsters) and build a new car underneath.
A bloke in Doncaster drives round in a 03 plate Jag MkII, in gleaming british racing green and under the skin it's all BMW (M3 spec engine etc.). When I last spoke to him, he was talking about NOS & perhaps a supercharger.
He gets all the reliability of a modern car with the fab looks of summat retro. Next tie I see him I'll get the details of the firm

Manta GT was beautiful (the mini Corvette), however they are pretty rare I think now, lots got hit by the 1970s rust bug.
Hey, forgot about the Magnum, bitchin' car, love the droop snoot Vauxhalls, kinda like a british mini-Superbird.
Manta B would be on the car collection list as well, especially with the 400 version.
This Manta was his daily driver up to a year or so ago, not a 400, but it did have a nicely built 2.1 in it, which may find its way into the GT... coz I think he want's something bigger for the Manta... I know he has a pile of engines around him, including a Lotus BDA (I think that's the one)... that could be nice too.
One day, when I've money, I'd love to get a GT on the road, a nice rust free arizona import, or a VW-Porsche 914/6 or an RS200, or or .... there's just too many!
How about a kit? I too fancied a fast classic but was put off by rust and the like so I bought myself a Stylus, should look something like this when it's finished;
