Nigerian Buyer of my auction on eBay.??

I have now relisted the phone back on ebay selling due to Nigerian scam artist.!!!

I am no longer going to contact this scammer but only help the Royal Mail with enquiries etc.. also may contact ebay after 7 days for payment not accepted via dispute console and get me sellers fees back.

I have just received this email back from The Royal Mail fraud team.

There are currently several e-mail frauds being perpetrated using Royal
Mail to encourage people to pay for goods or to send goods sold in on-line
auction.

If you've received an e-mail that appears to have been sent by a Money
Order organisation such as Money Gram that references a Royal Mail Money
Tracking number or Royal Mail Postal Order Payment, DON'T SEND YOUR GOODS
This is a fraud. Inform the on-line auction company of the user's ID and
leave negative feedback.

If you've received an e-mail stating that you have won a lottery prize and
need to pay Royal Mail to courier the cheque to you, DONT SEND A PAYMENT
This is a fraud.

If you've received an e-mail offering British Post Office or Royal Mail
Poster or Postal Order Services DO NOT PAY FOR THE ITEM. This is also a
fraud.
These frauds are under investigation, if I need any more information from
you, I'll get in touch.

If your e-mail is not directly related to these fraud then contact Royal
Mail Customer Services on 08457 740 740.

bwahahah! a quick serch of 'The British Post office' says...

was a post office operated by United Kingdom in Bangkok. It was the first post office in Thailand, offering international mail service shortly after the British Consulate was established on the bank of Chao Phraya River in Bangkok in 1857. The post office is located inside consulate compound. It ceased to provide service on 1 July 1885, the day Thailand started its own international postal service.

So unless you got a time machine, I think that postal order is gonna be out of date!!!!!

and here we go again... last night one of those scammers hit me on ebay, did a buy now on a mobile phone im selling... typical scenario email sent to me, im buying this for my son in nigeria...i wil send postal order... like arses you are!

sent a fraud report to egay and relisted my phone. gotta wait 7 days though before i can get the listing money back.

Quite frankly, things are really bad over there at the moment.

Nigeria is factually he MOST corrupt country in the world!

The poor are incredibly poor and opressed!

However, methinks that this geezer isn't one of them 'cos of his ability to participate in web activities and internet auctions etc. let alone the purchasing of mobile phones! the mind boggles!

Not unless, he has satellite broadband piped into his shanty hut and is using a Sinclair ZX81 on batteries being charged by a bicycle powered hairdryer!

If he is as poor as he would like you to believe I doubt he would be emailing you!

Nigerians are responsible for more "successful" scams than any other place in the world and nearly all of it involves manipulation of sympathy and guilt of the "scammed" to some extent.

Some of their scams exploited greed of their victims as well, remember the Bank Scam!

EBay is a "rich" hunting ground for them and it's usually the innocent seller who gets shafted!

I have now sold this phone to a customer and has paid for it in full via pay-pal within 2 minutes of purchasing it.!!

Although the other person still continues to pester me in order to send it but i am just ignoring them as they will get fed up soon..??

As if i am going to send it then they pay me upon receival.!!

Nigerians

I sold my hilux pickup on ebay to a Nigerian in London. The winner had no feedback rating & when I spoke to him on the phone, I was suspicious & thought the deal would fall through. It didn`t and he paid deposit and caught train to Lancashire & paid balance with genuine notes!

Not all Nigerians are scammers- as for the problems in their country- its an African continent issue and Africa is run on the word CORRUPTION!
