Nigerian Buyer of my auction on eBay.??

I had the same response, but a buyer for my Land Rover series 3 that I have advertised on MILWEB. I emailed the site owner, as he put a warning up about scams, and confirmed that yes, it was a scam.
DO NOT tell them anything. Sell to a UK buyer only, and only after receiving the cleared funds.

Nigerian Internet Frauds
I do accounts and one of my customers had a Nigerian phone up from an internet contact to order something, sent a cheque that looked dodgy but she put it in the bank and waited for it to clear.
It cleared !
She started to set up the service (bodyguards) for them, paying out money, then the bank said HOLD ON this is not a good cheque and withdrew the money from her account, so has lost money on her payouts. The cheque was for £9000.
So the bank has stuffed her by clearing a cheque, then taking it back !
Beware Nigerian Cheques.

Scares the hell out of me, this negative feedback thing looks and sounds really bad.
Worse than giving them Aids, or Bird Flu, or a good working over, I think any sensible person given a choice would probably go for the working over as we know that both Aids and Bird Flu can kill and negative feedback is clearly worse than both of them, whereas you generally heal and get better from a bit of a kicking

Do you think when i receive the postal order from them i should take it to the Post Office and ask them to check the aurtheticity of it first to see if it is real.??
Then obviously if they say it is ok then it is or if not.??
Im just treading carefully as all of this is out of the ordinary to me.??
Normally you send postal orders through the post from the PO not via email and post.??
It does sound rather dodgy.??SLIPPERY WHEN WET.!!

My thoughts exactly.
I'd just stop contact with them, and relist it. You'll probably sell it for more anyway.
Maybe someone on here wants a new phone?
Did you let him know the postage cost to Nigeria? If not, you could say postage is £100 and see if he still wants to go ahead. If he is legit, he'll question the postage costs.
PS. The Mutual Cancellation has to be agreed upon by both parties, so the buyer may not go for it. Just do a search in 'Help' for Mutual Cancellation. If he doesn't agree to cancelling the auction, go for the Non-Paying Bidder Dispute.
Takes longer but you get your fees back in the end.Just Vegging Out

I have since forwarded the email to the Royal mail @ email:
onlineauctionfraud@royalmail.c om
This is what The Royal Mail site explains..
We have been made aware that there are fraudulent emails, alleged to be from Royal Mail, in circulation.
The emails are sent to winning internet auction bidders and claim to be from the The Royal Mail Third Party Protection Service. They ask for money to be despatched to a money transfer account prior to Royal Mail providing delivery of an imported item. Third Party Protection is not a service that Royal Mail offers.
These are not genuine emails. Royal Mail never send email asking for payments for services that you have not specifically requested from us. Nor does Royal Mail ask for money to be transferred via money order. If you are concerned that you may already have been subject to this fraudulent email, you may forward it to onlineauctionfraud@royalmail.c om

I am having no more contact with anyone to do with this.
Even if the postal order is delivered to me i shall take it into the post office branch in my town and ask them to authenticate it firstly, if not then i will give them all the nessesary details of which the bidder gave to me like name address details etc, etc.
I cannot stand people that rip people off.!!!!SLIPPERY WHEN WET.!!
