A forty year old would do me nicely! (woman that is)
Too young to die and too old to give a toss

I could have two 20 year olds - that makes 40 doesn't it?

GREAT!!! My Grandfarther gave up driving farm motors last year at the age of 77!!

Up until last year he used to walk five miles from his country house to the local barn, collect a mini tractor and mower, drive it back to the village and mow the comunity grounds like school playing feilds and around church yard etc .Then race back drop it off and walk a further two miles to the pub. Then after all that, walk another five miles home.

He moved into the town nearer to us when he split up with my gran (after 60 years of being married) and had to give up the driving.

Now two miles from the town center, he has just brought a 12V OAP buggy!
He can do town and back in 35 mins!! via weatherspoons for a topup!

It takes me 20mins each way fast walking!

I love him to bits and I hope he continues to race around as he does.

Good on daves dad!!! - Keep him active and in the fresh air

[QUOTE=Medieval Dave]This is my Dad, with his 60th birthday present. Just before he headed straight into the patch of mud on the farm where a tractor got stuck towing out a landy, at about 40mph.

                      (QUOTE)

                      Hi,
That's great Dave....I was born in the wonderful county of Cheshire too, in early 1940....
when I became sixty I got my last Land Rover in 2000- no not a Millenium Edition or owt like that, it was a Jan 94 200 Tdi.. anyhow enough swearwords ...but I do go off roading regularly and sometimes get well stuck. Last year there was an "initiative" centred at our local quarry where we took some deliquent teenagers from the local Remand Centre and showed them how to drive off road (in our vehicles) and basic car maintenance and repair over ten weekends (100 hours ) we were thanked by the local magistrates (Sheriff's) committee.Up till then the main" occupation" of these youngsters was car theft / theft from cars etc.. My main occupations nowadays is lookin after my grandchildren who are 3 years and 19 months old...and advising at the local car mechanics club housed in a vacant warehouse kindly loaned by local business people...so am I retired ? Yes of course....the above is voluntary...hope all you folks on here will still "talk" to me knowing how old I am....AGE IS JUST A NUMBER and I just loooooove my Surf, yeeeees !

                      Peter...
