  • Keeping up with the Vagrants.....

OK, after the lift springs laying around the garage for 6 months, Rick inspired me to stick 'em on the Runner at long last!

heres the manditory (and cleaner!!!) before pic

It won't be feeling insecure next time out to play with Rob and Rick now!

Gonna whack the Boggers on it tomorrow, see what it looks like with 35x16" tyres on.

I was going to say that those wheels/tyres look a bit lost now.
        It's only a hobby!

Not a problem, I have a set of 35 x 16" Boggers, or 35 x 12.5" Kumho M/T's lying around, plus a certain black surf in the family is getting so 33's next week, so they could go on for a test fit as well (but may be tricky keeping them on!!! )

OK smarty pants . I will now fit some lift blocks and a 2" body lift .

But first I got to fit new flexy brake pipes as mine are like piano wires !

Fit your 35" boggers but the 2000cc engine will struggle to turn them as you know.
Shall we fit our 2200cc engines next .

We need to do the wheel arch measure , but you have cut yours away . Better go road to lower edge of body swage ?

Hard work trying to beat Tony at upgrades and mods .

PS I suppose it looks OK .

hehe, I'm getting new braided hoses tomorrow, wouldn't fancy flexing the axles as they are now, and remember the front torque arm we were talking about, mine hits the anti roll bar now, you could raise the bracket on the axle, but I think I'll just ditch the anti roll bar for now, never needed one on the pickup.

Having the same issues as you with a rear handbrake cable, but I may take one of the overload leaves out if its to firm on the back, so they will clear then anyway.

2200 motors? could do, but I have other motors in the garage...............

              Lift envy, love it!

Who are you getting braided hoses from ? I see them advertised at LA supertrucks for £100 !! I redid the Lotus brake pipes including clutch in braided for £30 inc VAT .

Local Pirtek did say any brake hose in braided for £5 , but I was doing Insurance work for them then so might not get that deal now .

Local bloke to me turns nylon bar . Might get some body bobbins turned out to do a body lift . Trouble is I beleive they are not all the same size . Is that right ?

The local boy racer shop makes them while you wait, its easier. I'm kinda pi$$ed as I had a set of Supertrux ones, but they've disappeared over the years of being moved around.

Not sure about the 4Runner blocks, but on Pickups the 2 front blocks are narrower that the rest, but the same length. The set I made for my pickup were all 2" dia alloy, and they all fitted fine.

I think 2nd gen Surfs have a shorter front body mount compared with the rest, but not sure, hav'ta check.

Thanks for the info . My have trouble with the boss (Tam) if I do raise the Runner any higher . She got a nose bleed just reaching for the door handle the other day !

I just showed her the picture of your Runner Tony , and said "Look Tony's put a new set of springs on his and its about the same height ".
