I heard Norman Brennon, from the Victims Of Crime Trust, talking on the radio today. I've heard him a few times. He's a serving police officer and chairman? of the trust.
He talks a lot of sense and is organising a petition to present to Parliment. He believes that over the years the crime statistics have been manipulated for political gain by all parties to such an extent that the "reported crime" is only the tip of the iceberg. He thinks along the same lines as most of us sensible folk and wants to send a clear message to the politicians and the legal world that ordinary people have had enough.
If you phone 09067 800999 and leave our name, address, postcode your name will be added to the petition. Calls cost £1.30 of which £1.00 goes to the trust to help fund the cause. It's worth looking at their website. I'll see if I can find the link.
I can't find a link but this article just about sums up what they are about:
