had my 96 3ltr for two weeks no probs so far a bit confused about the viscous fan on this model, i've read the threads but could someone put my mind to rest as to how it should work it seems to have some drag when cold but seems more free after a several miles.The temp gauge doesn't go above half so far and i just love it, sorry to bore you just need advise, cheers all

My temp also never goes over half way - usually a little below. The fan runs when starting off from cold in the morning for a few seconds (you can hear it revving up) then is always disengaged. Never had any weather hot enough to hear it cut in again yet.

mine cuts in and out when I throttle it around town stop start (usually flat out between london speed humps!) and you can feel the thing going also it sounds like a plane!
occasionally have the little fan running if I stop after a long run when towing just for a moment or so.Tim
