  • Ohh My God !

Well after getting my new Surf the other day from Japan, I have been having fun driving here and there. But........................... One thing that concerns me. I have just had a little inspection under the drivers foot well to find a few cables to tap into and to my horror, when i moved some this THING ! fell on to my head ! Does anyone know anything about them ??? Do they bite ??? Can they run fast ??? and do they BREED ???. I have since, put my Surf to bed now and think ill leave her in the garage for a few days till they or how ever many more there is , will die in our Brittish winter !!! The problem i have now is that I am Shhhhhhhhh................t ! scared of Creepies like this. How Long will they live ??? and if i leave the Surf for a few weeks ......... Will they all DIE !

Been Looking around and found that it's a Japanese Stag Beetle. Lucanus maculifemoratus" Miyama kuwagata" By all accounts . The one i have is just under 3 Inches long. Don't think it's harmfull. Also they can't live winter !!!! yipieeeeeeeeeee ! I'll get the winter over then sell it on E-Bay

Ah yes, Lucanus maculifemoratus, I think you have just found a baby one, they are usually 5 ins long, very venomous and have 70-80 young at a time. They come out at night but have also been known to be active during daylight hours if disturbed. The Japanese like them roasted

If it manages to breed with the British beetle (not Ringo or Paul) it will become aclimatised and form a nest in the largest warm place it can , usually a Toyota . As previously said will sporn large numbers of off spring which will attack anyone near the osf seat of the Toyota .

A usual trick is to fall on the head and bite the person , they do not feel the bite but then become a breeding host themselves .A constant scratching of the head will take place as the host can not get the thought of the bug on their head out of their mind .

I agree with the avatar and name change , you big pansy !
