    I got my BFG A/T's from black circle;
    http://www.blackcircles.com/?_cmdexe...ate&acid=SE001

They are about £110.03 including VAT and fitting.
You enter your postcode and they deliver to your nearest tyre people (as long as they are on the list). Fortunately the delivered to the tyre fitters I usually use anyway.

I got the 31X10.50 R 15 and it's worth while spending the money on a decent set of tyres cause they do last. I had General Grabbers that lasted about 4 years.

    Hope that helps
    Mike

Yeah, dont forget to add on delivery. I went to the place to see what it was like [Leeming Bar Area straight of the A1/A1[M] motorway.

I have also recently ordered a set of tyres for a mate who owns a Daihatsu Sportrak and he's happy with em as well.

It's all down to personal choice.

        Colways

I just had Colway A/T fitted about 2 months ago and I am really pleased with them on and off road. Set of four cost me £180 fitted. Originally the Surf had Hankook Dynamic Radials on but I lost confidence with them on wet roads and got rid even though they had plenty of tread left.
I didnt see a problem with retreads because of there higher quality etc. compared with the past history. Only thing is, I will probably just do 5000 miles a year.

I have looked through loads of threads and articles on different tyres, but now I want your guys opinions.
I've been running Bridgestone Duellers, but haven't been comfortable with their performance and durability (eg. I keep losing the back end and they're nearly knackered after 15K miles).
I have noted peoples like for the BFG's, and also have seen the article about a set that have done 120K miles - very impressive, but the cost is the big con.
I'm tempted by the Colways - apparently the same tread pattern as the BFG's, but at half the cost. I know they are remoulds but what are the other draw backs?

Your Help and advice is always appreciated.

          Cheers

Many thanks for the heads up, but I'm already aware of this site - hence this post really.
I probably will go with a set of the Colways as with shipping and fitting at a local place it'll be about £200 for all corners - best I can do with BFG's is £360.
There is a huge price difference here, and in fairness there hasn't been one post to say "don't get Colways because.....", its just been "Don't get Colways!".
Thanks to the people that have had Colways and have posted , as its important to show that people who fit remoulds aren't ending up in a firey heap on the side of the road, as some people seem to think will happen.

Anyone with remould horror stories please post.

              Cheers

Thats why I took a look at the 4x4accessoriesandtyres [about 200 mile round trip for me]. They fit and balance the wheels and are delivered for going straight onto the vehicle.

I have been running Colway remoulds with the same pattern as the BFG's on my Hilux with excellent results both on grip and durability, apparently they only use Michelin carcases, mine have done about 20000 miles with little signs of wear.At the timethey were about 40% of the cost of the genuine article.Good luck on all fronts Budgie.....

Done a lot of tyre research recently, Jap BF's have multi repairs, must have driven over a yard full of pitchforks.
Seems nothing to touch BF T/A for general use inc. some off-road. Cost here in S.E. UK around £95 each. Highly recomended for road only use are the Khumo's at about half that price. BF's good for about 50-60k miles all others less.

You pays your money and takes your choice!
Yes! It's still in the garage. M1ROD

I spoke to my brother about an hour ago re Colways to see if he could do me a cheaper deal as he is in the trade. He advised me against them due to the amount of motorway miles I do. He has five Colways from different vehicles that he is returning under warranty for detatched treads, blisters etc. He said it is relatively rare that he has to change them under warranty but he personally wouldn't risk them for 90% on road driving. Just his opinion.

He is sorting me out with a set of 31/10.5R15 Marshalls. They are not remoulds. I can't remember the part number but he says they are a compromise between A/Ts and M/Ts. i.e. more aggressive than A/Ts but less aggressive than M/Ts. I'll let you know how I get on with them.
                            It's only a hobby!

we use remoulds on the work trucks all the time... 60-100,000 miles a year... only ever seen 1 with missing chunks and that was from road damage.
i've got colway MTs and apart from off road damage (slices and gouges) they've been good!... even wear, and at half the price of "real" tyres, you can't go wrong!
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!
