John, Would you not consider the 'jack it up yourself' route?!
I'd be happy to talk you through all the parts you'd need as im sure all the other members here would aswell.
Its not that hard an you can focus your efforts on getting it spot on!!

Would love to have a crack at building my own truck, however, no workshop space and limited space at front of houseetc coupled with the fact that I se hammers of various sizes and weights for percussive maintenance !
still think you can help ?Death rides a Black Horse

How about trying to organise a bit of a 'tech weekend' for it?!
Pickup a surf in good condition in the colour you want an then you just need to get a few bits an your well away!
Body lift, £100
Coil springs £80
That takes care of the lift pretty much for a basic cheap set up.
An then say just shy of £600 for 5 wheels and tyres. Assuming you buy new.
An your well away!
Additional things like bullbars/roof lights etc can be picked up 2nd hand every now an then if you wanted to get some more things on there.
The rack Apache has fitted is £160 - say £200 with some lights on the front an you'd have a bl**dy fantastic looking truck!!
It would probably work out cheaper in the long run then buying one thats already been done if your not looking for a huuge amount of extras.
Thats the route i'd take!

Good man!!
I'd get a thread up asking for a tech weekend an see when people are around!
As long as you have a kettle an possibily some bread and bacon then im sure people will flock there!
A body an sus lift could be carried out in a day with a few people who've done it for guidance!
If you have the wheels an tyres by then, In theory at least you could make a lil monster truck in a day!!
Work out if your going to be using it loads an using it offroad, If you are 33's are the 'sensible' suggestion!
If your just pottering around then get the 35's like i had!
