I'm having a real problem finding LHD headlights at a more affordable price than RT so, does sanyone know if there are other Toyota's that use the SAME headlamps as the 3rd Gen? I know the chassis and engine is the same as on some Land Cruisers, but is there a LC model for example that also uses the same lamps? These will be MUCH easier to source in Euroland.

Thanks Andy, I found this site last week but didn't really find it that user friendly and can't quite work out how to use it as a compatibility sorter.

Thanks Bush, I will ask on that site, but the problem is all the 4Runner's I've seen here seem to be 2nd Gen Surf body shape, I'm not sure there is a 3rd Gen body 4Runner.

It's a 3rd gen but it's right hand drive though.

Yeah I noticed it was RHD too. It seems that this one was imported from Japan to Germany and this guy bought it into Spain. It looks like a 2002 model possibly too and if that's the case I'll be down the spares shop in the morning to see what the price is. Great find Bush, thanks mate.

Another good find mate, but unfortunately they're not CE or E marked and will therefore not pass the ITV (MOT) inspection.

Still both not CE or E marked. I've asked quite a few sellers and they all confirm that they're not Euro compatible. I could probably get away with using them at a later date as replacements, but to get throught the initial re-registration process I'll need the propper ones.

Can anyone confirm then please that the 3rd Gen body, electrics, etc is the same as is on the 99-02 4Runner?

I'm pretty sure that ANY lamps from the US will NOT be legal in Spain. They don't have a CE or E (E2) marking and that's pretty much a fail.

They've got to be European sourced lamps or ones certified for use here, but if the 99-02 4Runner is basically the same as the 3rd Gen Surf then it should be easy enough to order from a spares shop here.
