    Hi there!
I recently sent my 2.4Td SSR-X in for a belt change only to have the mechanic call me back to say the detentioning bolt for the aircon pully had snapped. The head of the bolt is about 13mm and about 5 Inches long, so the mechanic says anyway! Anybody familiar with this bolt and know where I can purchase a replacement?
    Cheers!

Take your chassis No up to a Toyota garage and they should sort you out OK.

If not, and you know of a nut and bolt supplier, it should be a M8 or M6, 1.25mm pitch x how ever long it is.

If you get really desperate, or the Toy garage isn't interested, let me know, we have a good Toy dealers that get import bits, or I may be able to get the bolt, but its a little long for 'off the shelf' bolts.

It's got a 14mm head, is actually about 2 1/2 inches long and fits the idler to its bracket - unfortunate part is that it has a smooth shaft on it as it is the bearing that the idler pulley runs on. Also has a couple of collars on it to stop it being tightened too much. Might have to have one made up. It's either M8 or M10 thread, think it is M8 though.

      Cheers

        Bolt Probs!

        Thanks TonyN and Lucky.
Hoping I can get the part from a toyota dealer. As the bolt head has broken off I wasn't to sure what the bolt looks like. I now have a better idea and I am hoping there won't be to many problems getting it out. Got any idea where I could find a mechanic Specialising in surfs in the London area???
        Thanks again.
