  • locking wheel nut - nut

    I'm after a locking wheel nut for the rear hung spare.

    I have the key bit that goes over the nut to lock it, but the nut itself is fubarred so if anyone has one knocking about or knows where i might find one, let me know.

    Cheers

    FYI Celica locking nuts fit the Surf, I know this 'cos I've recently fitted some!

    I would imagine nearly all Toyota wheel/locking nuts of the same vintage would fit, if that helps.

        Excuse me for asking a stupid question, but aren't locking nuts and keys all different? Maybe not all different, but sufficient variation that even the same manufacturers key/nut won't always fit.

          Not the original Surf one. The nut's the same it's the locking part that's different.

            Ah, OK, didn't know there was special Surf types. The locking nuts on mine are cylindrical, with three notches out of the sides. The notches match up with lugs on a special nut head that you slip over them and the wheel brace then goes on that.

              It's the one for the spare wheel carrier i'm after, comes in two parts, a lock that slips over the nut that you put your ignition key in to unlock. And a nut that you fit with a normal wheel brace.

              <Hang on - i'll go get a pic>

                If you do manage to get a complete one, i'll buy the locking part off you as i've only got the nut on mine.
