  • rear wheel arch/speedo converter

I bought my first surf yesterday from an honest and friendly yotasurf member - its good to own a real car for a change (or is it really a truck???) (2.4TD SSR_G on a J Reg)

Anyway, it has minor damage to the passenger rear fibreglass arch extension - can anyone offer a replacement or advice on how to fix?

The speedo also only reads kph, do I need to get it converted to show mph & if so what's the best way of doing it?

    Thanks for any help offered

For the arch, go to halfords and get one of their plastic bumper repair kits. It isn't actually fibreglass, it's plastic. What colour is it?.

As has been said, you can get the new speedo faces from Milners.

      Cheers

Thanks for the help guys, in response to your advice:
how difficult is the speedo removal/dismantling to fit the converter?
this might sound a silly question, but how do i tell if the speedo is mechanical or electrical?
        and
got the plastic repair kit from halfords (will have a bash this weekend) but as the arch is a metallic silver/grey, getting a good finish is going to be impossible. Maybe the best i should hope for is to strengthen the damaged arch section from underneath - that is unless any of you bright people have any better ideas. (other than spending £100+)

        Thanks again,

The arch is painted with normal auto paint. Find a decent car paint store that can tell you what the paint code is and get an aerosol made up. With good preparation and not putting too much paint on at once you should get as good a finish as you need. The paint is a two stage process - paint then lacquer.

          Cheers
