Ok, the surf will be getting a lot of attention at the weekend, Richard's tools have become rusty through lack of use, I've persuaded him to lube them up for a good session on my Surf. I'll let you know the results at the end of the weekend.

                Rain stopped play!

Wussy BF refusing to play with my Surf in the rain! However, he did have a valid point when he said he doesn't have any new parts to replace the old ones!

Richard would like to know which seal to order, is it likely to be the rear hub seal that has failed or would it be the half shaft seals? He hasn't removed anything yet but he can see black sludge oozing out from the inside of the hub. Would it be good practice to replace all the seals and bearings while it is off the road?

i suppose if he is going to be stripping it down then its just aswell do the whole lot first as last. What ever you do don't use the milners wheal bearings as they have been know to break up quickly,i would go for the roughtrax ones.If your not sure on what you need to order ring roughtrax and ask to talk to Barry as he will tell you exactly what you need

                          It's a small world!

Hello Pete, indeed it is a small world. (BF) Richard told me a bit about you. He also mentioned your kind invitation to the BBQ and finally get the chance to offroad my surf. I'm tempted to offroad it but I must admit it's more Richard's thing, he's been busting to do it for ages.

2 of my brothers have 4x4s, Andy also has a 3.0 Surf, Mark has a Shogun, I don't think they'll offroad there machines, Mark definately wont, it's always highly polished!

I'm having a good think about your invite, is it an adult only gig? We have 2 boys 9yo and 14yo, no problem if it's adult only, it'll give us a break - YAHOO!

Off to work now, chat soon.

Hello, BF (?) Richard here, Mandy off to work now. Thanks for your kind invitation. RTTS? IS that Run To The Sun? I used to be into VWs years ago, I remember RTTS being a big do in the VW fraternity. What are the dates of RTTS?

Ex Jeeper - Richard. (seriously considering a nice fat Surf purchase!)
