  • Where to get 3rd Gen accessories

As some of you know I have bought a 3rd Gen Surf which I will have next week.
It is a narrow body model so I am after the following bits if any one knows where I can source them.

1] New or good condition used wheel arch extensions.
    2] A bar or Bullbar

I mailed a few companies who said they only had 2nd gen stock.

    4x4 accesories and tyres
    formula 4x4

    amongst them

    Any help welcome
    Cheers

A godd place to go - but wary of import duties and shipping - is the US. A lot of the companies out there will ship to the UK and I think that most if not all of the US 4 Runners are narrow body - I think it's only the Surf that had the Wide body option. So arches (Bushwacker) etc are commonly available. Not Sure about the Bull Bar but Cmar had a 2nd Gen one modified for his 3rd gen so it's possible with a welder and a great big lump hammer I think.

    Cheers

Yeah, get the stuff from the states. Be aware of shipping costs though. The highlander model is the states is a widebody, but the widebody arches on there own would not suit because the cladding on the doors is incorperated into them.

The a-bar on my rig wasn't from a 2nd gen, I'm not sure what it was for but I went through several in the shop until I got one that suited the profile of the surf and then got a friend to fab up the mounts to suit. I have it removed at the moment, and I will have to modify the mounts to suit the bodylift that I hope to fit soon.

Can't vouch for any of these companies, but you might try:

          Thanks for the reply guys.
I emailed frogsisland and had a reply that said -

"Hi kevin i have just had a look in our suppliers book for the kits but they only list the normal hilux which we don't think will fit. The only way you can get the kit is from America which i can look into for you but this will cost allot of money to get the kit from America."

So I have mailed them back to ask for a quote for American stock.
Out of interest can anyone have a guess at the cost ?
The other way I thought would be to somehow get in touch with a Japanese breaker and get used bits sent over, any thought or advice on this route ?
          Cheers

            Try
            www.performanceproducts.com

It's a US company and if you register online they will send you a catalogue over the pond!!

Not sure on the shipping costs though
            NO WORRIES!

Why don't you go to a Toyota main dealer.

I have done this for my 3gen surf (wide body) for several parts and they have been helpful and quick.

Most of the parts ordered have arrived within a couple of days or a week at the most.

If you want a Japanese breaker then try here:

Their English is good and they are quick to reply.

I also have a set of EPC disks for the whole of the Jap Toyota range up to 1997, this helps me find the right part no. for the main dealer.
