  • Better in black!!!!!

The 3rd gen wheels I got from Tony (deiselboy) were a bit pitted and starting to look shabby,,,,,,,,,

But a few coats of Satin Black hammerite later, (and new boots),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Still got loads to do but I'm getting there slowly (decent weather helps when you have no workshop!)

PS,,, Running absolutely miles better now after a quick re-alignment of the propshaft!!

Cheers for the advice/info on a sunday afternoon GWH!
(poor sod can't escape my inane mechanical questions even when he moves that far north!)

Not to many things would get away with having the wheels painted satin black with hammerite but that looks mint tintin!
Made for that colour of Surf too.

                That looks great Al.

And Vince. Some idiot, previous owner, might have put a new uj on, and not quite got them back where they should have been. I'm moving to Norway Alan, try and find me there.

                          Alan

                          They are looking good.

Same wheels that I have - I am looking to give them a bit of sparkle myself as they are a bit pitted and flaky.

Did you just give them a sanding then paint over them or did you need to prime at all?

Thought about changing the colour of mine from silver, to give a bit of "pizzaz" but not sure what other clour would look right on a blue & silver surf.

                          Cheers

They got a quick rub with some emery then a couple of coats of hammerite with a brush, then a very light rub with wet and dry to get rid of any bad bits, then a sprayed final coat of hammerite with a rattle can!
